NOODLE KUGEL
This year we celebrated the 8th night of Hanukkah on Christmas Day, so we decided to make everyone's favorite festive dessert- NOODLE KUGEL! This traditional jewish one bowl recipe is easy to make and absolutely delicious. Topped with cherries, served warm or cold, maple syrup or not, noodle pudding is always a favorite.
Ingredients
16 oz cottage cheese
8 oz cream cheese
1 cup granulated sugar
5 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
10 oz extra fine egg noodles
2 cups milk
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
cinnamon for sprinkling
2 cans cherry pie filling
Directions
- Boil noodles according to the package and allow to cool
- Combine all ingredients in one large bowl. I like to start with the cream cheese to make sure its soft and spreads through, add cottage cheese, sugar, eggs, vanilla, milk, butter and cooked noodles.
- Pour your mixture in a large baking dish
- Top with cinnamon
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour
- Top with canned cherries
*serve warm with maple syrup!
